Horse Associations and Clubs

The American Miniature Horse Association (AMHA) is the world's leading Miniature Horse registry with nearly 160,000 horses and more than 11,500 members in 37 countries and provinces. Founded in 1978, AMHA promotes the breeding, use and perpetuation of a standard of equine excellence in miniature, separate and apart from ponies and other small equines.

The American Miniature Horse Registry (AMHR) is part of the American Shetland Pony Club. The American Shetland Pony Club was founded in 1888 as a registry to keep the pedigrees for all the Shetlands that were being imported from Europe at that time.  It has expanded to four separate breeds under one club: The Classic American Shetland Pony, The Modern American Shetland Pony, The American Miniature Horse Registry and The American Show Pony Registry.

The Heart of America Miniature Equine (H.A.M.E.) club has the unique distinction of being the first AMHA sanctioned club in the United States.  Its shows are normally held at the Boone County Fairground in Belvidere, Illinois.

Wisconsin Links

The Southeast Wisconsin Miniature Equine Club was formed in 1996 "for the specific purpose of having fun!" Its stated goal is to promote and improve the quality of miniature equines in southeast Wisconsin through development and encouragement of good sportsmanship and fellowship in recreation and in useful work.

The Indian Head Miniature Horse Club (IMHC) is a group of miniature enthusiasts, primarily from the Indianhead Region of Northwest Wisconsin. But the club has grown tremendously in the last few years and now can boast membership from all over the state of Wisconsin, as well as quite a few from Minnesota.

The Dairyland Driving Club of Wisconsin, over 175+ families strong, is dedicated to promoting safe driving of horses. We sponsor pleasure carriage drives, safety clinics, and educational seminars around the State of Wisconsin.

The Midwest Horse Fair is the number one 3-day horse fair in America. Held in Madison, Wisconsin at the Alliant Energy Center, it has been growing and going strong since 1979.

Other Favorite Sites

Two of our horses (so far) have come from Royal Oak Farms in Florida.  They have been breeding and showing horses since 1988.  They specialize in quality halter and driving horses.  They have a very long list of quality horses that started at their farm.

Charminy Farm, located in North Lake, Wisconsin, is a breeder who has also acquired quality miniature horses from Royal Oak Farms.
