Well Hello BABS

Cousins,
Barbara "BABS" is my friend and genealogy teacher; she has been "educating" me about my own family for the past nine years. I would have been lost without her help since I was quite overwhelmed at my first revelation of our amazing family.

Hi All, my name is Tom Mackie from Gladstone MI Yooper. My line is from the Mary(Paula-Maria) Grignon Noel daughter of Hippolyte and Marie-Louise(Lizette) Choret(Chaurette) Grignon.

The Navarre site is GREAT and has helped me put a face on people that were at my Great Grandmothers Funeral.
Out of town visitors were Ephriam, Rachel and Louise Grignon from Appleton Wisconsin. It was nice to see the picture on the Navarrre site.Is there a picture of Marie-Louise(Lizette) Choret(Chaurette) Grignon out there somewhere?
Also Hippolyte(Paul) Grignon or do we have to settle for his brother Augustins picture.

TOM

Thanks for the invitation. I also am new. My husband and I live in Owen Sound Ontario. We have a married son and daughter and five wonderful grandboys, twins age 16 and age 11 and 8
I am related through the Andrus side. My gg grandfather Ruel Andrus came to upper Canada from Vermont/ NY . He was reported to have been involved in the war of 1812 with the British. My father told me a lot about family history and I have spent some time proving what he told me as it did not jibe with what other cousins who are writing a book had as their information. It has been very enjoyable . The computers of to-day are wonderful

Hi Roger and Cousins,

What a great idea. I hope others use this avenue to connect with each other. I have been working on my family tree for about 15 years. I live in Mesa, AZ but originated from Green Bay, WI. My direct lines are the Louis Grignon, Jacques Porlier, Col. George Boyd, John Dousman, Paul Ducharme and of course lets not forget Menominee roots. This family has ties to each other and might be of interest to other cousins. I have done an enormous amount of research at UWGB in Green Bay and also in Madison but with time restraints. Living in Mesa I have access to the LDS Library and traveled to Salt Lake for research that lead to my first Patriot, John Dousman. What a diverse and interesting family we have. I was so puzzled and had to find out how I was related John Quincy Adams and how that would lead to Green Bay. WOW, was I in for a history lesson! It was with great pride in our family that drove me to find more pieces to our family tree puzzle...and it never ends! I had to buy another floor file to hold all my research and have written one book (for my family not to be published) that turned out really nice. If you are interested I can send you a link to it. It starts with our fur trapers coming from Canada. I hope (now that I am retired) to do the history book I have been talking about for years.
Again, cousins, glad to connect and happy searching.

Joan White-Piron

Hi Joan. I hope this forum generates more interest over time so we can share with each other.

I also am retired and, if I can just find some time from my efforts to maintain this site, will probably be working on a family history also. I've been gathering facts and fables for a while now and hope to get started on it before the year ends. I would be delighted if you could share the link to your history.

Hi all & thank you Roger & family for this great site & forum.

I'm Mary Jo (nee Nickel) Schweiger; my gr-grandparents were Margaret N Porlier & John J Nickel; Margaret was grand-daughter Louis B Porlier & Sophia M Grignon - thus my connection to the family site.

Looking forward to adding my family line to the database, while learning the ins-and-outs of the site.

Hi Mary Jo. If you have any family information you may want to have displayed at the genealogy site, please contact me directly (roger@thenavarres.com) and I'll process it for you. I can accept information in almost any form: word document, pdf file, gedcom file, text file, etc. The site has generated a lot of interest by family members and each seems to have another piece of the puzzle that others have been looking for.
